Set low TRST_N after power up.

Post by y0lo »

Hi,

I want to clarify is it mandatory to set low TRST_N , (when we do not use JTAG) after power-up?
The datasheet recommends the next:
The TRST_N pin must be asserted low during and after power up for 100 ns. If JTAG is not required, the TRST_N pin can be tied to ground to hold the JTAG module in reset.
Is it necessary? Can I connect MODE[2:3] and TRST_N pins and left this line floating?

Could somebody advise.

Thank You.

Hi,

Yes it is mandatory to set TRST_N low after power up to ensure the JTAG circuitry is reset correctly. Not doing so would result in an indeterminate state and unpredictable behaviour could result.
