Older L series

Post by Folknology »

Given the announcements around the Xcore-200 range which look excellent BTW, what exactly will happen with the current L general purpose series?

1) Will they still be available or phased out?
2) Will the L series be reduced, if so which will remain?
3) Will the L series be repriced/repositioned?

The reason I ask is I have several commercial designs based around existing L and U series, with some I have an opportunity to change with others less so.

I also notice that in the lower end 4/6 core there isn't a new offering, the entry level 8 core 200 series only seem to offer a single Xmos link, this could be a problem for several of my designs as I need at least 2 links, hence my query.

regards
Al

Hi Folknology,

That's a good question. Whilst we expect new designs to gravitate towards xCORE-200, there are no plans to change the status of the existing XS1 portfolio.

Best,

Thanks Mark

That's good news, the most critical ones for existing designs are the XS1-L4-64 and XS1-L6-64 neither of which are represented within the new xCore 200 series.

Everything else can be migrated to the xCore 200 series AFAIK
