XEF232-1024-FB374-C40 and xlink3
So I was planning on connecting an SDRAM to the XEF232 on tile 1, had all the pins worked out, and then read this discussion and found that tile 1's P16B isn't ideal because of the 8ma drivers. No problem, I have 4 tiles :) For future expansion, I want a 5-way link off-chip as well as using xlink0 f...

Re: Can't log in using xtimecomposer
Ok, this post, separate so it stands out more, is by way of an apology. The above is overly snarky, and I was just frustrated at losing the "me-time" as I was writing it... That's no excuse, though, software always has bugs, and most of the problems are probably caused by Apple's SIP anywa...

Can't log in using xtimecomposer
So picture the scene: It's been a long day of back-to-back zoom meetings. The kid is off to soccer practice with mum, and I've finally got an hour of peace to do something *I* want to do and play with the latest idea to use an XMOS cpu... Download xTIMEcomposer. Ok, it needs Java 6 Download Java 6, ...

Re: Link round trip time
I'm thinking 16" or possibly 36" for the cable. I'd go shorter if I could, but it's a factor of what's available. The 36" one is cheaper ($26), the 16" one is $29 As far as signal integrity goes, I've ordered the cable and connector to try it and see. I actually ordered the $5.56...

Re: Link round trip time
Yes, those timings are actually how I got the numbers above. Writes I'm not too bothered about because the busses are decoupled, so while the data is propagating to the far side, the local XMOS can be monitoring the bus again for a read. There's return value for a write, so as long as it's in-place ...

Re: Link round trip time
Hello Simon. The attached XMOS document details the LVDS link benchmarks for 2 wire / 5 wire use. From this document: https://s14.postimg.cc/fzj3xrja5/xmos_lvds.png Hi there :) Yep - that's where I got my 18MB/sec from. I will need data travelling in both directions, so I took the pessimistic figur...

Link round trip time
This is to do with the interface board in the other thread... Background Here's the situation: I'm trying to build an expansion box for an old Atari 8-bit micro, there was one designed but never released by Atari, and I'd like to fill that gap. The current design has an XMOS chip sitting monitoring ...

Re: SDRAM library
Nice looking board.. Thanks :) I'd be happier if it was fully working, though :) Regarding lib_sdram, it used to be the case that it would only play nicely with ISSI. There were significant updates to the low level code in 2017 to bring it into line with generic SDRAM setup. For example, both MICRO...

Re: SDRAM library
Thanks for the reply - I was leaning towards the "it's buggered" answer as well. I actually do have one of those FLIR things you attach to your iPhone. I didn't notice it being overly hot (I did touch it, but it was a little time after the board had been switched off), but it's certainly w...

SDRAM library
Hi all, So I'm testing out the board from this post , things are going smoothly apart from the SDRAM component... https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ThrudTheBarbarian/pbxl/master/imgs/xlpb-memory-rev0.png I took the circuit pretty much from eez-open's project and he seems to be having no problems, so...
