Re: Bricked eXplorer ?

Update: My new hardware arrived this morning. I unpacked the new XTAG first and plugged it into my old eXplorer board. Then I put the XTAG USB into the PC -> green power light "unconnected to target" red light (as expected since target not powered). The PC popped up a message that the XTAG...

Re: Bricked eXplorer ?

I ran the tool you referenced and updated the libusb driver. I realised that I'd used this tool before, or something with an identical interface, but I don't recall when or why. I picked a driver from the list and hit the install button. It didn't make any difference to what driver was installed whe...

Re: Bricked eXplorer ?

Yeah, it thinks it's an XMOS XTAG-3 with a picture like a small refrigerator. The driver itself is libusb0.sys and .dll I found replacement stock at Farnell (subsequently element14) for both the XTAG and the eXplorer. They're both on order. If I can isolate the problem to the XTAG then I'll get anot...

The XTAG-3 Driver thinks that it is working properly. The Driver version is 0.1.12.1

Re: XTAG3 LEDs

Thanks mon2.

And when it is plugged into the target does it discover the target immediately it is powered up, or does it need the IDE to initiate this?

XTAG3 LEDs

Would someone quickly check this for me please. If you plug an XTAG3 into a target board (mine is a xCORE-200 eXplorer but I'll take answers from anything) WITHOUT starting up the xTIME IDE, what is the status of the LEDs on the XTAG3 card? Specifically, I'm interested in the D1 LED that is closest ...

Re: Bricked eXplorer ?

Hi mon2. (It's morning in Australia again). That's exactly what I did last night. All the voltages are correct, and the fuse is intact. I also washed the boards down with IPA in case I had some shorted pins somewhere. It looks like all the other test points are dynamic, and my scope is old and analo...

Re: Bricked eXplorer ?

Step 3) was the one that took all the time until now. I also checked that the environment variable for the startup delay was still there. The XTAG3 device is showing on the Windows list, but I've now been sitting looking at "Performing startup actions: (0%)" at the bottom right of the xTIM...

Bricked eXplorer ?

My XTAG3 has stopped talking to the xCORE-200 eXplorer board. There is no obvious reason for this. Same laptop/Win7/USB ports, same cables. I hadn't touched it for a month or so (while building something else) and now it won't play. It was powered down for that time. The XTAG3 is showing up in the d...

Re: How to get the Port Count without a dummy write?

Thanks. That shows me how to inject the assembler instruction into the source code, but I'm still at a bit of a loss as to what's happening at the port hardware. I'm a bit hesitant to climb underneath the hood here. I had a look at the disassembly around the partout_timestamped() line and don't real...
