XMOS History, Strategy, Conversations and Musings

Post by jonathan »

I've been following XMOS for a while.

Many of the discussions we're seeing on the forums regarding directions, openness, etc are things I've written about.

In reverse chronological order (most recent first), here are a few XMOS-related posts on my blog. I'd love to discuss any/all of these ideas and concepts (no-one likes a write-only blog!).

Dear Jonathan,

thank you for this discussion starter. I have read through your blogs and while I currently work for a company that is likely to do too much marketing, I wholeheartedly agree with you that one of the things I am missing are statements of direction or the "vision statement" (even though I use this expression extremely sparingly - a former chancellor of my country once said that people that have visions should go see a doctor).

I do have a product idea that I want to realize and I am still at the early stage of choosing the right hardware platform to base it on. And while one can over-market very quickly, I would like to see some statement of what XMOS is working on. I do understand that as a company XMOS must strike a balance between openness and the right timing of announcements, however in my opinion a little more openness and forward-looking statements can make the difference between choosing the XMOS platform over some of its competitors.

And once again, thanks for the interesting read and the discussion starter.
