XMOS IMU In Progress

Post by rp181 »

I am working on an IMU for an AHRS. It will have an L1 onboard, with 3 axis of gyros, accelerometer's, GPS, and a connection for a 3 axis magnetometer (Offboard so I can take it away from motors). 2 DC-DC converters are on board, to 5v and 3.3v, and a smaller one for the 1v supply. Attached is current progress, I plan on finishing it up and ordering the PCB in the next couple of days. If anyone could look it over that would be great, hoping I won't have to order another revision due to cost. This doesn't include the miniboards that have the X and Y axis.

Note: I used Eagle 6.2

If anyone is following:
I finished the designs and had PCB's made. I soldered on the processor and the Z axis gyro with the ADC, zero problems so far ( Actually a first with XMOS). Attached are updated designs with the aux boards (I plan on etching those myself), and here is a picture:

I think my alcohol is contaminated, it left a white residue for some reason and made the board look quite gross.
I need to order the other sensors and some parts and I will be able to finish this up and work on code.

Another note:
I had 10 PCB's made, so if anyone wants one send me a pm. No components included. It has no silkscreen, so you will need the eagle files.

Note you need rework capabilities for the gyro's and the mag, as well as the XMOS processor ground pad (I typically drag solder the pins).

Hi Ravi this is rather cool (I'm looking at the eagle files now)

You should definitely add this as a project on Xcore also if you get a chance

Project added here:

I uploaded updated eagle files there (I just cleaned the schematic up).

Github here (not much right now): https://github.com/rp181/XMOS_IMU
