We have just produced signed drivers for the XTAG-2 which should resolve the issues with Windows 7 refusing to install them. They are available here:

http://www.xmos.com/xtag-2

The driver is the same as the one in 9.9.2 apart from the addition of the signature and will be included in future releases.

To install:
  • Right click on Computer.
Select Manage from the pop-up menu
    Go to Device Manager.
Open LibUSB-Win32 Devices (with an XTAG-2 attached)
Right click on XMOS XTAG-2 and "Update Driver Software..."
Click "Browse my computer for driver software"
Specify the location you have downloaded the signed drivers and click Next
A Windows Security dialogue box appears, click Install.
    When installed click Close

The driver should work on 32 and 64bit Windows OSes.

Please let us know if you have any problems with it.

Great, will try it out on my 64-bit desktop at work.
I'm using 32-bit on all laptops since they do not have so much RAM.

... and Vista gives me gray hair

It worked fine for me under 64bits Win7 as well. :D

But since I earlier tried to install the (incorrect) driver in the IDE catalouge by making overrule on Win 7, I had to remove the old driver completly first.
Othervise Windows told me that a driver was already installed and that it didn't needed to be updated.
