Assertion failed

Post by malbahri »

Hi All,

I am getting the following
Assertion failed: (getOperand(0)->getType() == getOperand(1)->getType() && "Both operands to ICmp instruction are not of the same type!"), function ICmpInst, file /Users/Shared/buildbot/slave/tools/osx_10_8_nightly_rel_enterprise_13/build/sb/tools_llvm/src/include/llvm/Instructions.h, line 945.

In fact, i am getting this after i changed the string.h file as for implementing alias as per the following

#ifndef _xc_string_h_
#define _xc_string_h_

#include_next <string.h>
#include <safe/string.h>

#if defined(__XC__) && !defined(UNSAFE_LIBC)
#define memchr(s, c, n) _safe_memchr((const char *)s, c, n)

Kindly help me sorting this issue

Hi malbahri,

Could you give more details please so I can attempt to reproduce.
What is your set up (command line) and source file (is it an .xc or a .c?).
Could you upload a simple failing example?
Would you know if it is failing with the latest 14.3 tools?

Hi Robert,

Appreciate your response to my inquiries. The actual work we are trying to implement so for far, is to use par statement in AES open source code from https://github.com/kokke/tiny-AES-c. We built our code based on .xc trying to adopted on our amos Stratkit.
below is the code

//
// main.c
// AES
//
// Created by user on 17/11/2017.
// Copyright (c) 2017 user. All rights reserved.
//

#ifdef __XC__
extern "C" {
#endif
#ifndef _AES_H_
#define _AES_H_
#ifndef CBC
#define CBC 1
#endif

#ifndef ECB
#define ECB 1
#endif
#include <stdint.h>

// #define the macros below to 1/0 to enable/disable the mode of operation.
//
// CBC enables AES encryption in CBC-mode of operation.
// ECB enables the basic ECB 16-byte block algorithm. Both can be enabled simultaneously.

// The #ifndef-guard allows it to be configured before #include'ing or at compile time.
#ifndef CBC
#define CBC 1
#endif

#ifndef ECB
#define ECB 1
#endif

#define AES128 1
//#define AES192 1
//#define AES256 1

#if defined(ECB) && (ECB == 1)

//void AES_ECB_encrypt(const uint8_t* input, const uint8_t* key, uint8_t *output, const uint32_t length);
//void AES_ECB_decrypt(const uint8_t* input, const uint8_t* key, uint8_t *output, const uint32_t length);

#endif // #if defined(ECB) && (ECB == !)

#if defined(CBC) && (CBC == 1)

//void AES_CBC_encrypt_buffer(uint8_t* output, uint8_t* input, uint32_t length, const uint8_t* key, const uint8_t* iv);
//void AES_CBC_decrypt_buffer(uint8_t* output, uint8_t* input, uint32_t length, const uint8_t* key, const uint8_t* iv);

#endif // #if defined(CBC) && (CBC == 1)

#endif //_AES_H_

/*
This is an implementation of the AES algorithm, specifically ECB and CBC mode.
Block size can be chosen in aes.h - available choices are AES128, AES192, AES256.
The implementation is verified against the test vectors in:

NOTE: String length must be evenly divisible by 16byte (str_len % 16 == 0)
You should pad the end of the string with zeros if this is not the case.
For AES192/256 the key size is proportionally larger.

it seems using alias in both memcmpy arguments creating a problem. However, I used alias in memset in the old version of the above code was successfully worked

Would it be possible to upload a smaller example?

Dear Robert,

Appreciate your suggestion, but the it seems quite difficult to simplified the code. However, i managed to resolve the issue by calling the # include <safestring.h> header file instead of # include <string.h> header file. Accordingly, replacing memcmp with safememcmp function as will as inserting the alias statement in the function arguments where the safememcmp is used
