Changing I2S ports

Post by xlordofpainx »

Hey again guys,

So while designing my new PCB I stumbled upon the fact that the I2S pins chosen by default on the xCORE-200 Audio board are quite far form each other. My question is is it adequate to setup different pins for the i2S? It should be programmable where the stream is coming from (for example putting Fclk and Bclk on pins 122 and 121) ? Oh and another question - when connecting another device to the XMOS I2S are there any strict rules for the traces? I did not find strict rules as there are for example when it comes to the USB differential pair where the two traces should be the same length.

Cheers.

You can substitute any port of the same width on the same tile.

Eg. if using XS1_PORT_1C then XS1_PORT_1A-XS1_PORT_1P will do fine.

This document is helpful in expalining the relationship between ports and pins
