parameters needed for avoiding energy distortion

Post by lucami »

I am interested in parameters, that are influencing received sound energy; filtering is probably just one of them.

XMOS is doing some processing to increase voice clearity, but for my application, the excessive processing of sound (like filtering of voice spectrum) is detrimental. I actually don't care about voice in particular, but the total energy of the sound. I intented to use beamforming to focus to region from which I'd like to capture sound, but it appears that this is not enough, because a simple mono microphone did a better job. So additional parametes need to be set. I am assuming I don't need to change any of the AEC parameters, just beamforming and post processing. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There are many parameters that can be configured, but their descriptions are insufficient. Is there a source that would explain them in more detail?

Thanks!

Here is a pretty good resource explaining workings of XMOS vocalfusion products and configurable parameters:
