XMOS XCore L1 processor doing cap sensing

Post by jason »

Found this video on YouTube recently, pretty cool! See it in action:

"XMOS XCore L1 processor doing cap sensing. This demo has a slider with 8 buttons, each button requires a 500 K resistor. The slider is underneath 3 mm acrylic, to simulate housing. The software on the XCore measures the capacity of each of the 8 capacitors, and in this case recognises "Press", "Swipe left" and "Swipe right" events. On press all 4 LEDs go on, on left the left two LEDs waggle, and on right the right two LEDs waggle.

Of course one can program different motions, measure the speed, or location on the slider."
