OSX 10.10.2 Yosemite asks for "older version of Java SE 6 Ru

I'm trying to start XMOS_xTIMEcomposer_Community_13.2.1 and I get the message that it needs an "older version of Java SE 6 Runtime". When I press "more info" I come to a blank screen at https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1572. 

I have "Java 8 update 31", presumably the newest. How do I proceed?
