I bought in 2013 an AVB-DGK from dsp4you.com
I was able to update the AVB-SW with firmware June 2015 / Major firmware.
https://www.minidsp.com/forum/software- ... net-device
I have a MOTU 1248 and a MOTU LP 32 from MOTU using AVB.
http://motu.com/products/avb/1248
http://motu.com/products/avb/lp32
These two devices MOTU are working perfectly with the switch AVB-SW. No problems.
In AVB-DGK are also two dongles AVB-DG. Plugging them in to the switch after some time synchronization for AVB is lost. Either only for the dongles or for all devices.
My questions:
Is there an newer, a more recent firmware available for the switch AVB-SW from dsp4you.com? Where?
Is there a firmware update available for the dongle AVB-DG from dsp4you.com? Where?
Current fw for AVB-DG is 5.2.0beta5.
I already asked this to DSP4you
https://www.minidsp.com/forum/hardware- ... -available
miniDSP Tech support team replied:
Hello AW
The way to update the firmware would be as per the AVB-DGK user manual (http://www.dsp4you.com/downloads/AVB-DG ... 0guide.pdf). I.e. you need to use XMOS SDK. Check out the below link for more information.

Hoping this info helps

end of quote
Is there a binary available which can be flashed to AVB-DG same way as for AVB-SW? Or is it necessary to compile FW? Can currect xTIMEcomposer-Community_14-Linux64-Installer_Community_14.3.0 be used?
Is (all) this still feasible?
Is it worth to do this?
The XTAG2 is needed. Is the XTAG2 still available?
Please let me have yr advice.
Thanks
Best regards
AW

Not an audio developer but...
1) there appears to be a more current firmware posted here:
https://github.com/xcore/sw_avb/tree/ma ... e_avb_demo
http://www.xcore.com/viewtopic.php?t=3646
http://www.xcore.com/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=4605&start=10
Believe this is the next version beyond what you have now.
PS: Found the above links by searching out your beta code firmware version and expanding from there.
2) XTAG3 is the latest tool to use the JTAG interface to reflash the XMOS CPU:
https://www.xmos.com/support/boards?product=19480
Available through Digikey.
https://www.digikey.com/products/en?keywords=XA-XTAG-ND
3) The posted source code should be able to compile using the most recent toolchain from XMOS which is free for Linux / Windows / MAC
https://www.xmos.com/support/tools
Be sure that the vendor of this equipment did not customize the hardware and s/w for their needs before erasing the contents of your original firmware. You could end up bricking or losing out on the operation of your audio equipment. However, if you were able to take stock firmware in the past from XMOS and apply onto this equipment then sounds like they rubber stamped a reference design created by XMOS (which most OEMs are doing).
