I want to use xvf3100 development board to record sound, I use the 1i8o2 program, but when I use audacity recording sound, it says I open the sound device error, please check the recording equipment and project sampling rate, may I ask how to solve this.If you can give me some inspiration, I would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,
Are you using Windows ? If so, you might find that Windows has cached a previous USB configuration.
The solution is to use an app such as Nirsoft USB DevView to remove all cached instances.

I'm using Windows 7 and I have the same problem whith configuration "1i1o2_cir43". Should I also install Nirsoft USB DevView??

I'have already installed the driver "USB-Audio-Class-2.0-Evaluation-Driver-for-Windows_4.11.0" but nothing changed and I still get the same problem.
I attach a screenshot of the device administrator with the xcore vocal fusion connected to the pc and another when the firmware is running.

Thanks in advance.

1i1o2_cir43 refers to UAC 1 so you do not need a driver.
If you have changed the number of I/O channels then you should use usb dev view (or similar) to remove all cached device entries from Windows then re-plug the device.

Hi johned and thanks for answer.

I have changed to another pc which is brand new windows 7 instalation, in order to see if it was a problem of my previous pc. However, with this pc, I obtain the same problem: When I run on my vocal fusion speaker circular array the configuration "1i1o2_cir43" if I record from Audacity, it records 2 channels (the same signal). But if I run "1i6o2_cir43", Audacity doesn't allow me to record any channel. Whereas if I do the same in mac osx laptop everything works fine. I can record with whatever configuration.

With windows pcs I have tried to change the frequency and also the number of bits (16-bit,32-bit float). Can someone give me a hint to solve thhis problem I need to use Windows instead of Mac.

Thanks in advance.

Antonio

Hi Antonio,
In Audacity, ensure that you have Project Rate set to 16 kHz and WASAPI driver selected.

The "1" in 1i6o2 refers to UAC1 so you do not need to install the driver because that is only for UAC2.

Windows itself caches USB driver configurations for all devices so if you plug in the device with a 2 channel build then change to a 6 channel build you will find that Windows can't handle the change. When you change the device configuration you should always uninstall any driver configurations using a tool such as usbdevview from nirsoft.

Best regards,
John
