Anyone tried to use binary viewer lately? Seems to be broken

Post by Matt »

Hey,

I just tried to use binary viewer and it seems to be broken. Im getting an error of :
java.lang.NullPointerException
Can anyone confirm it works in the latest releases?

I have tried updating java with no better result.

Cheers

Matt

Hi Matt,

Sorry about the delay in reponding, I just noticed this one.
It seems to work OK for me using the 11.2.2 tools with a simple
'hello world' style project.

So you have any further details of how I can reproduce the error?
Also, if it is possible for you to attach the offending workspace/project, then
I'll take a look.

Cheers,
Kris.

Hey Kris,

I have been able to verify the problem across several machines 32 and 64 bit.
I have been able to use the resource viewer on 10.4 with success on the same project binary.

Have you tried the resource viewer on one of the reference designs??

Hi Matt,

Yep, you're right. I just tried with the avb reference design and the application executables generated do seem to crash the binary view. I'll log this and will try to get this sorted for the next release.

Thanks
Kris.
