leds and RGMII

Am I correct to say that the 16 leds on the xCore 200-MC show a nice pattern when using the RGMII Ethernet library because they actually share the port/pins? I mean there is no such thing as an led driving function in this library for something meaningful such as a basic visualization of the 16 cores load (which would be nice)?
