Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
<t>its been too long guys, i've fried my xc-1a board a long time ago, but now i have a new job (mechanic) and i shall save up some money to get a new board sometime soon. before putting it away i finished up some pcbs for a tlc5510ains, a pga117, and some dacs connected to some op-amps, alltogether ...

Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
<t>i do not take any offense, this kind of criticism gives me new search terms to look up. i've accumulated a box of sample adc's over the past few months, i do suppose i should just be less lazy and use that instead. i don't think i will exceed a bandwidth of 20mhz with this project, since that is ...
xc-1a buy
does anyone have an extra xc-1a dev board they would be willing to sell? I've fried my board somehow. no 3.3v power, programming link not responding, outlook does not look good. i don't need anything in great condition, just really sad about loosing my board and looking to jump back into development.

Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
if anyone wants the circuit board designs just send me a message. i have a breakout board for a tlc5510ains and a pga117. they are just png images, printed at 300dpi. they are designed to be printed and transferred to a pcb using the toner transfer method.

Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
<t>so i made a breakout board for a texas instruments pga117 programmable gain amplifier. super simple to use, no external components, bam. i now have an analog mux and some gain. so my thinking right now is ill have some op-amp input stages. stage 1 is a variable adder, where i feed the output of a...

Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
<t>so the bad news is that my xc-1a board is now fried. i think i dropped a bit of ferric chloride onto my board and shorted out the power supply. no more 3.3v and no connection to the computer. hopefully ill be able to save up for a new one. i just finished the pcb for a pga117 programmable gain am...

Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
<t>so invested some birthday money into my pcb lab. i now have a little etchant tank with a pump to circulate the ferric chloride, a laminator to heat and transfer the toner from old magazine paper to my copper, and a laser printer to print my designs with. i also bought some rosin flux. i read the ...

Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
what a coincidence. my aunt's office had a broken laminator they were throwing away. doesn't laminate but looks like it's perfect for pcb making. this thing has a beast of a motor inside. hopefully tonight my pcb's will start coming out correctly.

Re: oscilloscope/bus sniffer
so i just found a nice laser printer at goodwill for $10. soon i will have a laminator, and with those two i will try again to make some decent pcb's.
Re: adc's
So I found a paralax tutorial using an adc08100, and now I'm even more confused. They have the reference voltage set at 3.3 and 0 volts. My understandkng was that there could be no more than a 1.6v difference between the two pins. Arghhh. Anyway, I'm making some more pcbs today. Hopefully ill have p...
