oh my, i've missed all the follow up posts.

first thing, the project is continuing, just a little slower than i would like.

as for an update...

1) it doesn't appear that i've posted a link yet, so here is the homepage of xdev: http://xdevboards.com the color scheme may look firmiliar. if you have a question about xdev please read the webpage first. and please, don't be the 900th person to ask what editor i used to make the webpage because it's all written with a text editor.

2) xdev will be back on kickstarter when there are a handful of expansions finished and some demo projects.

2) it's a shame that the XS1-L01A got downgraded to only having 4/6 threads. however, there seems to still be stockpile of the 8 thread ones at digikey, so when it's back on kickstarter, the first batch will have those.

3) i had to switch the usb interface chip because Silicon Labs discontinued it! turns out that they pretty much do that on an annual basis. i'm not buying from them anymore. the new one is FLASH instead of OTP and the company that makes the new one doesn't drop MCUs like their hot, so problems solved.

4) i've finished the hardware for five expansions and have made a new prototype (with extensive debug support) of the xdev board.

5) i've planned out some demo projects so that it can actually make HaD. jerks changed their policy on KS projects just before i submitted my project. the first is replacing the controller of a bipedal robot i have (17 servos to control). another is a modified hexy and the third is the classic quadcopter. i might throw in an RC car. of course, i'll add plenty of sensors to all of them. :)

6) i started working on the software bit again about a week ago and made the beginnings of a project creator plugin. it does pretty things which people really like. this is a video of what it can do: http://adaptivetime.com/project_builder.ogv and this is a picture of it's current state: http://adaptivetime.com/project_builder.png (the images are just filler for now)

if you are willing to help, serious about helping (no flaking out!) and experienced in 3D CAD, please send me a message. i need some modifications done to the 3D CAD Hexy files (https://github.com/ArcBotics/Hexy) because the current person doing it is swamped with work. :(

This is looking really good Gravis, I'll make a news post about it to try and get more people interested in the project!

yes... if you buy in multiples of 250 chips but when they go out of stock, that's it.
