Saw this on Gizmodo, quite amazing. I think i read somewhere that it has an on-board IMU. But what makes it so accurate is the system of 20 cameras around the room, watching the quad rotor.

Ah! I did not realise it was based on cameras in the room! I thought it may have been using some centeye product! :-) I think they should develop something with a few centeye's!

That 20 camera motion capture system cost about $300000. :shock:

Would need a beastly processor to process centeye sensors that fast... O.O Would be a minor fraction of the cost though...oh the possibilities...
$300,000 doesn't seem like a whole lot considering they have at least 15 of the quadrotors. They don't show it, but in one of the videos, you can see them on the floor. Also, the cameras would have to be quite a high framerate and resolution.
Some university projects get more money and a lot less results. ;)
