using xflash to generate an image file for SPI flash...

Howdy!
I'm working on a board and would like to program my flash devices using my t(rusty) eprom programmer. XFlash takes the option -o filename which generates a file.
Aside from the numerous warnings and what not xflash outputs, can I just burn the file into flash and then solder it on the board? Seems like I should be able to but figured I'd ask here first...
