HID button

I am using the XVF3100 development board, sw_vocalfusion-[sw]_1.1.1rc5 example, I want to use the buttons on the development board to control the mute of the microphone, but did not find the relevant examples. By looking at the documentation, I set the HID_control in devicedefines.h to 1, and the button still doesn't work. I only saw a UserReadHIDButtons function declared in user_hid.h and did not see the specific definition of this function. How can I control with a button?
