Code to print strings/chars onto LCD Slice

Hi,

I'm working on a project that has an LCD. I've got the example code which loads images in to a frame buffer and then onto the LCD screen working. (module_display_controller, module_sdram))

I need to place strings onto of an image in a frame buffer. I've been unsuccessful in finding any example code that print strings or chars to the LCD . Does anyone know of any modules/examples that they can point me to?
