Baby Explorer

Post by brittain »

I think the last time I did PCB design was to make a 68000 board for the BBC micro, at the time I had a whole load of inmos development stuff including an atari transputer workstation.

Anyway as an excercise in form factors I want to make a board with an xmos chip on it and try different connectivity methods between boards, I think something like a cut down explorer, would be just the thing to do, this I could then use in a number of projects I am working on.

I probably want to use design tools that are freely available, to produce sharable designs, is anyone else thinking along these lines and does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed.

I would start with KICAD and then decide on your I/O requirements. From there you can decide on a chip to use.
