This is an open source embedded network monitor that utilises an XMOS 4 core device (XS1-G4). It is built on the XMOS XC-3 dual ethernet kit with a custom display board. It displays total network upload and download and an averaged speed that is updated once per second. It also presents a nice graph of traffic through the device.

On two occasions I have been asked, 'Pray, Mr. Babbage, if you put into the machine wrong figures, will the right answers come out?' I am not able rightly to apprehend the kind of confusion of ideas that could provoke such a question.

Nice Alpha on VFD.
It would be real cool in Oled.
This is a smart tool.
I always liked VDF's.
Question : what kind of energy footprint is this VFD ?
Question : what size is the array (pixels) (dimensions) ?

Thanks for the comments. To answer the questions:
1) what kind of energy footprint is this VFD ?
Frankly, quite bad. You are looking at 0.5A at 5V, so 2.5W. It gets gently warm. It's because it has to pass current through the wires that release the electrons to light the pixels. Produces a nice glow though!!
2) what size is the array (pixels) (dimensions) ?
Its a 256x32 display, Farnell order code 1495427 - Display dimensions:14.3mmx114.6mm

I expected a power issue. Still a great why to use VFD.
I did hint towards Oled, it dosn't need to be color. I'll check oled
256x32 prices and watt for comparisons. The primary display
I want to use is rgb led DLP portable 3-Watt. with a ccd or and
cmos camera. the two devices incorporated w/Xcore in such a
way that the DLP becomes an effective memory device for such
thing as pattern reconition and who know what else.
