I am making some commercial products that need to talk to the PC.
I noticed the mini-pci spec seems very friendly because it provides 3.3v and 1.5v rails. Furthermore it provides USBD+ and D-: http://www.interfacebus.com/Mini_PCI_Express_Bus.html
This allows for a very low cost L1-64 design because you can use a linear regular to drop 1.5v to 1v needed for the xmos device.
So it looks like a perfect candidate to build a L1 on a minipci finger and attach it to a low cost atom netbook or nettop.
Has anyone used Mini-PCI before? Anything one should be aware of?
Another proposed dev kit - mini pci
