Quick question with regards to the internal pull-ups. I can't find it for the life of me (naturally) but I seem to recall somewhere that the internal pull-ups cannot be guaranteed for multi-bit ports.
First question is whether or not the internal pull-ups are sufficient to drive simple switches without external pull-ups. Second question is, if yes, whether or not the above statement is true or not..
I'll see if I can track that doc down somewhere to refresh my memory...

The I/O on the L series has internal pull downs not pull ups. They are not strong enough to guarantee a defined external value and shouldn't be used in place of resistors.
