I am working to build a cheap, dead simple inductive pickup and rpm conversion (with display) to read out engine (or fan, or whatever) RPM. The rest of the project will be what the microcontroller DOES with that information.

I already have the physical part working. It involves a piece of standard cable-tv co-ax, a few printed parts from my 3d printer (or CNC'd) and a few transistors. I'll add pictures and such as I get them.
