The FTDI device drivers supplied with the XMOS tools can cause the debugger to drop the connection to the target board and return to the command prompt or terminate the session in the XDE. This is due to a known issue in the FTDI interface driver which is fixed in the latest FTDI release.
Customers who are experiencing problems where the device only stays connected for a short period of time should update the FTDI drivers on their machine using the automatic update tool provided by FTDI, which can be found at:
