Has anybody implemented SATA on XS1-L1? Is it possible?
Could use a SATA controller IC, but I was hoping it was possible within the XMOS device.
The maximum data rate I need is around 2Mbps. It's not operating that quickly, with respect to SATA's max. 1.5Gbps, but I do need spare resources to process other things like user interface.
What hardware requirements are there besides LVDS transceiver, squelch for OOB signalling?
Does anybody know of any SATA resources I could check out to get up to speed with SATA?
Cheers

SATA is to fast for direct LVDS implementation you would need some sort of SATA PHY chip with parallel interface to the XS1 would be my guess.

Hi Al
Dang, I was hoping that wouldn't be the case.
Can you suggest any SATA PHY chips? I've had a quick look around online and there doesn't seem to be any available. SATA PHY solutions seem to only be available as IP for SoCs.
Looks like I may have to go back to my original plan and use a SATA to IDE bridge IC.
Cheers
