Are RX-I and TX-O required?

Technical discussions around xCORE processors (e.g. xcore-200 & xcore.ai).

Are RX-I and TX-O required?

Post by rp181 »

From reading the documentation, it seems this is only used for high speed serial is needed through XTAG2. would like to make sure that these are not necessary connections to an L1 for programming/flashing.
So is this the case?
I had removed those as I did not have room to route those signals.

The original original Xtag does use the rx and tx signals, the xtag2 however only uses the signals if an appropriate and proprietary driver is loaded over usb and is thus optional. However I cannot speak on behalf of Xmos as they may have a different view of its usage and or future plans for this feature.
