During a debugging session, XGDB drops the connection to the target board and returns to the command prompt (or if running from within the XDE, terminates the debug session).This issue is present with FTDI-based debug adapters and the Windows tools release only.

This issue is due to a known issue with the FTDI interface driver, which is fixed in the latest FTDI release. Update the FTDI drivers on your machine using the FTDI automatic update tool available from: http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/CDM/CDM20814_Setup.exe
