Those optoisolator boards are good value but only use them for low frequency stuff, I would also be careful about required current to drive them, Xmos chips esp L1s have a rather puny drive capability. If you are going to optoisolate serial (Uart/SPI/I2C) you need a fairly fast optoisolator check the freq response, fall and rise times and also look for low current input threshholds for Xmos and on L1s use the 8ma pins rather than the standard 4ma pins.

Drives steppers, DC-seros, BLDC-servos, AC-servos (out of my head, verify by yourself) and does support feedback (QE-encoders) etc. Depending on the motor and power requirements, one amp can drive two motors.
