First of all, is this the right forum for website comments/suggestions?
I was invited to a closed group, but when I clicked join I could only send a request for membership. Wouldn't it be logical if I joined immediately, as the group's owner invited me?
Improvement suggestion for group invitations

I think website discussion should be in Off-topic, I shall move these posts there now.
So just to clarify:
You were invited to a closed group
You clicked the link
It shows you have having requested joining the group
The closed group owner must then accept this
I agree if the owner invites you, it would be nicer if you are allowed to join instantly, I shall look into this. However for now, he will have to accept you.
Cheers.

Pretty much like that. I clicked the join link in the email I got, and I arrived at a page where I could write a message to the group mod and after that click "request membership".
I agree that it shouldn't be something high priority. Just in case you have some time to spare :)
