Hi

How do you insert pictures in a blog here? Can you upload a picture, or do you need to use an external file-server for the pictures ????

What you need to do is to go to the bottom of the page when you create a new post, upload an (image) file, and then once uploaded click the "Place inline" button...

That's what I did on this post, assuming that's what you're trying to do.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Are GIF and JPG the only allowed ones to be shown directly here as your picture ?

Most common web based image formats should be fine. However, if they are larger than the displayable width of the forum, then they will be shown as an attachment, instead of actually displaying the image.
