Hello,
I have search this website for a long time and can't find any solution of SDIF interface.
What need is:
PC's USB-->(Adapter needs to be created)'s SDIF output-->dCS's Scarlatte DAC's SDIF-2 input.
Both Adapter and DAC are "Word Clock 44.1 KHz" in by Scarlatte Clock.
By this adapter, Wish to play audio from PC and have PCM or DSD format to Scarlatte DAC.
Is it possible to be done by this Xmos chip?
USB to SDIF inerface

Check out the block diagram in page 2 https://www.xmos.com/download/final/USB ... 1365171432
The card (USB-Audio-2.0-Ref-Design) has a testpoint for a 3.3V S/PDIF signal. You only need to add an appropiate output circuit for an coax S/PDIF output.

Thanks for your information.
The SDIF interface is not S/PDIF. It defind by SONY only for DSD audio.
This interface can be found in dCS, Emmlabs, Mytek 192 DAC and Tascam DV-RA1000HD.

DSD over S/PDIF, sure it can be done on an XMOS chip..
I'm actually halfway through a DSD implementation, it would be pretty easy to output DSD data over S/PDIF.
Why would you want to do this though?

Hi Ross,
As my explanation,
SDIF ==/== S/PDIF.
SDIF has two data lines (L, R) and one word clock line.
My purpose is as #1's description, for computer audio through dCS Scarlatti DAC.
Thanks!

Ah some confusion (I guess we thought you had a typo).
I've never heard of a hardware interface named SDIF, is there a spec?

SDIF=SONY Digital InterFace.
It is for DSD audio farmat. Two data lines are L and R stereo. One word clock line is 44.1 kHz for synchronization.
There are two kinds of this interafce, SDIF-2 and SDIF-3.
SDIF-3 doesn't need word clock and get clock from two data lines.

hmm I can't really find much information on it.
What encoding is used for SDIF-2?
SDIF-3 appears to be phase modulated

I found a website. You may check it:
