USB 2.0 multichannel audio pops and cliks

Post by andrew1 »

Hi,

I made a PCB designed by myself with  XS1-U16-128-FB217-C10. After uploading the USB 2.0 software ver. 6.11.4 everything works with
USB Audio Class 2.0 Evaluation Driver for Windows under Windows 7 64. The problem is that the sound is 1 pop / click repeating every 15.2 seconds at 48kHz sampling. It looks like he lost a few frames resulting in the output waveform samples are cut. Then you hear the characteristic click. Interference always occur at the same time and repeat every 15.2 seconds.
Please help where it can be the reason for such action.

This could be the host not keeping up with audio streaming. Does it meet the USB audio 2.0 driver system requirements? These are listed in TUSBAudio user manual section 3. Have you tried any other hosts?

What playback method and software did you use?

Do you have an XMOS board as a reference?

Excessive device driver activity can easily disrupt audio streaming. To check for that, run the DPC Latency Checker Utility.
