How do change the application version number?

In XTC, I can change the name of an application by simply renaming it but how to I change the version number that follows the app name in square brackets?

This is generally an automated (publishing) step.

However if you want to change it, locate ".xproject" file and modify the entry to the one you need. This will be reflected in the workspace.
