Hi
I am looking at the schematic for the multi channel audio kit.
I notice that nothing uses more than 5v on the power side. So why is an initial 12v supply used and then converted to 5v, instead of just using a 5v source supply and filtering it?
I need to know this as I am designing the power for the XMOS rig on my PCB.
Thanks!
Why is the multichannel audio kit powered from a 12v Adaptor

It may be because XMOS uses standard power supplies that are 12V?
As far as the XMOS processor goes; you just need 3V3 and 1V; no 5V required either.

Thanks
Although the multi channel board has various 5v lines are these for things such as SPDIF as we are using the SPDIF out from the ref design.
