Hi everyone,
I'm currently using the XK-EVK-XU316 development board, and my experiments have been successful so far. Now, I’m planning to design my own custom board using the XU316 processor from this kit.
On the XK-EVK-XU316, there’s an integrated XTAG4 adapter for debugging and flashing. However, for my custom board, I don’t want to integrate the XTAG4 circuitry. Instead, my plan is to use an external XTAG4 adapter and connect it via the SYS2 interface to program and debug my board.
My questions are:
Is this approach possible?
If yes, what should I pay attention to when designing the board?
Are there any specific pin connections, level shifting, or hardware considerations I should be aware of when using XTAG4 externally?
Any guidance, diagrams, or examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
On the XK-AUDIO-316-MC board, there is an external XTAG connection available.
If I replicate the same external XTAG connection directly to the processor on the XK-EVK-XU316 board, will it work?
Are there any important considerations or limitations I should be aware of before trying this?
Thanks in advance!
