I'm using an xTAG3 with a Synapticon board kit. I've installed xTimeComposer 13.2.3 on my Windows 7 Pro SP1 machine. In device manager the xTag appears under XMOS devices and no errors are reported.
When I connect the xTag to my USB port the power light comes on and the Run, Status and Target leds all show dim red. The xScope and jTag leds stay off.
In xTimeComposer when I go into Run configurations, under Device options > Target is 'XMOS XTAG-3 connected to None[403MIYUF]. When I click Refresh list this stays the same; the power light stays on, Target led shows bright red, jTag flashes green twice then goes off and all the other leds are off.
Does anyone have any ideas why it's not connecting?
Regards
Steve
Update - we've found that the kit had been assembled incorrectly, hence the problem!

I met the same problem in xTIMEcomposer V14.1.1. I solve the prblem using a very unusual way :). Perhaps it is helpful to you.
when you open the computer first time, then open the xTimeComposer, It is nothing in Target of debug configuration. It is also no use to press refresh list button.
Then, following step is the keypoint:
you use the "restart" function(must use restart, do not use close) in wondows to restart the computer , then open the xTIMEcomposer again . you may find the XTAG in Tartget of debug configuration.
Everyday after I go to office, I start the computer and open the xTIMEcomposer first. Then I restart the computer and reopen the IDE. Everything is OK.
