This project is a response to Xmos's statement:
'Of course, it is regrettable that an opportunity to make our boards "ready" for a future feature was missed, and particularly that the community also has designed boards which are incompatible with XScope.'
This way even if Xmos won't help fix the issue for designs out there based on their earlier documentation we can take it into our own hands.
The project is to design an adaptor card or cabling to enable boards designed with the faulty XSYS specification based around the XK-1 reference design. The Xtag2 connector includes a duplex 2bit XLink, this can be used for any number of functions beyond JTAG for sharing data with the system under test/operation. This XLink can convey realtime information on the running target system, One such example is Xmos's XScope.
Unfortunately some of the earlier Xmos boards like the XK1 and third party boards that used the reference design files from it suffer from having incompatible XSYS link pinouts on their connectors. The solution to this is simply swapping over the incorrect link pins via either a cable or small adaptor board.
