Is there a setting to get rid of this restriction and make the search more useful? I have to search with Google instead of the forum's own search. The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: USB SEL A.
You must specify at least one word to search for. Each word must consist of at least 4 characters and must not contain more than 84 characters excluding wildcards.
Can the forum's search be improved?

I just use google instead, as you said, e.g. search for "USB_SEL_A" site:xcore.com
It looks like phpbb can be modified to improve searching but I doubt they will want to put in the effort.

Hi jb123, I've had a look at the phpbb search settings. The search settings can be configured. I've changed the restrictions now and reindexed the site. I've tested out searching for USB_SEL_A and we have some search results coming up now.
