Unique PID from XMOS

Post by matb »

Hello,
I am designing an audio device based on XMOS with a USB input. From what I can see, XMOS provides a default Windows driver suitable for evaluation boards.
Is it possible to obtain a unique PID from XMOS along with a dedicated Windows driver for commercial use?

Please submit a ticket at www.xmos.com/support. I don't think there is anyone on here that can assist with this request.

If you're using the Thesycon driver the Theyscon VID is also an option. See https://www.thesycon.de/eng/faq.shtml#USB_VIDPID

I asked support a short while ago about being allocated a PID and using Xmos' VID, but I was told that they don't offer this anymore. At the moment, I'm just using a random VID/PID which I have have checked shouldn't clash with anything mainstream, at least. I don't use the Thesycon driver, though, so I don't know if that changes anything. I also don't use the USB logo anywhere.

Obvious disadvantages: no ASIO drivers, no control panel (standard or custom), no native DSD support (DSD256). So Thesycon drivers and VID/PID included is really a good deal. You can ask them for a free trial and then make a decision. They are nice people. Highly recommended.
