Just want to know if anyone tested the JTAG firmware provided at https://github.com/xcore/sc_jtag ?
is it the XTAG-2 firmware?

Yes that is the firmware XMOS use for the XTAG-2 and it is kept up to date with any bugfixes and enhancements we have.
