XC-1A Power Supply

Post by matrix »

Hi,

I would like to use a XC-1A board as add-on card on a bigger
I/O board, all 16-pin headers will be connected via short
flat ribbon cables, and I want draw power from a 24V/5V
dc-dc converter.

Is it possible and save to feed in +5V and GND through the ports
(since I want to avoid the usage of the regular power plugin),
or can this cause potential problems like ground loops etc?

Thanks for your advice

i've powered it with 5V from the prototyping area as well as the ports and not had a problem. it will work but i dont know if it's recommended.
